Servelec and Microtest announce availability of mental health and GP system integration

Joined-up approach will enable safe and secure sharing of patient records

Servelec and Microtest have announced that work has been completed on successfully integrating the Servelec RiO electronic patient record product for mental and community health with Microtest’s Open Evolution clinical IT system for GP practices.

This move will support the safe and secure health community sharing of patient records.

The integration with Microtest will provide RiO users with secure access to clinical information held in Microtest’s GP system. At the same time users of Microtest will be able to access eReferral, eDischarge notices and care summary information from Servelec’s RiO system.

Chris Netherton, managing director of Microtest, said: ‘This integration underpins both companies’ ambitions to lead the way in interoperability in the healthcare market.”

Microtest provides clinical IT systems to GP practices across England and has a particularly strong customer base in Cornwall and Devon. The company recently announced its expansion into Wales as one of only two preferred vendors, and as a result 111 Welsh GP practices have now chosen to migrate to the company’s Open Evolution system in 2019.

RiO is an electronic patient record (EPR) solution utilised by over 100,000 healthcare practitioners to help improve the quality of care delivery, clinical safety and overall patient experience.

It provides a seamless electronic patient record to ensure a holistic picture of the patient is available to the right person at the right time. It also supports the individual health index number and care delivery in line with the Mental Health Act.

The integration is expected to be made available to Microtest and Servelec customers over the coming months. A further integration with Servelec’s social care case management system, Mosaic, is planned to follow.

Neil Laycock, managing director of Servelec’s healthcare business, said: “Interoperability was recently cited as the number-one priority for 84% of NHS IT leaders. Servelec’s unique footprint, cutting-edge approach to integration, and my personal experience in the primary care space collectively, sets us apart in our ability to truly deliver on the NHS’s interoperability aspirations.

“We are therefore delighted that the work has been completed on this exciting new integration with Microtest as further evidence of Servelec delivering on our aspiration to be the most customer-focused and interoperable vendor in the market place. We also look forward to working closely with Microtest to expand our integrated solutions across social care and GP systems.”
