GO telecare device will enable users to call for help when outside the home
Tunstall Healthcare has launched Tunstall GO, which provides two-way speech, fall detection and locatability, meeting a growing need for new telehealth solutions.
Developed by Chiptech, it complements telecare packages by providing users with the means to easily access help when away from home.
Worn as a pendant, or attached to a keyring, if activated by the user it will connect them to the monitoring centre with two-way communication, enabling the operator to establish the nature of the event.
Activation also automatically notifies the monitoring centre of the user’s location, meaning appropriate assistance can be sent.
And Tunstall GO will also automatically raise an alert if a fall has been detected.
During the pandemic, we’ve seen increased recognition of the value of technology in providing care and healthcare remotely, and a corresponding acceleration in adoption
Gavin Bashar, managing director at Tunstall Healthcare, said: “GO is an exceptional device that will make care services more flexible and empower vulnerable people while reassuring family members that loved-ones are being protected.
“GO is a fantastic addition to Tunstall’s portfolio, and will add an extra dimension to the services our customers can offer to the people they support.
“This is particularly important while we continue to experience the effects of the COVID pandemic, and many vulnerable groups may be nervous about leaving home.
“It is an innovative product that can provide the confidence for people to reconnect with their communities and maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.”
He said the launch was further evidence of the increased reliance on digital technologies since the outbreak of Coronavirus last year.

He added: “During the pandemic, we’ve seen increased recognition of the value of technology in providing care and healthcare remotely, and a corresponding acceleration in adoption.
“This is something we expect to continue in coming months and years, and we are working closely with our customers to help them develop their services as technology advances.
“The benefits of technology in health and care are enormous and Tunstall is committed to being at the forefront of new innovations that enter the arena and enable increased flexibility in the way care is delivered.” >
